My baby's quietly nursing.
The sweetness of the quiet reminds me of the difficulty of the day. We went head to head today. My efforts to comfort her were in vain time and time again. She slept, she nursed, and she cried. And repeat. I can imagine few things more frustrating than a screaming baby who can't be consoled.
I'm tired and overwhelmed, but then I remind myself that she looked like this this morning:
I remember how she stared at me while we chatted. I remember that glint in her eye that's almost as good as a smile. I remember the moments when I'm overwhelmed with love and joy.
We'll be fine, this girl and me.

That can be so frustrating, I know. It's so sad when they are screaming and you try everything in your power to calm them down, yet nothing works. Makenzie did that for months, Lexie for much less. It's just a stage and it will pass. Be careful what you eat though, it could have something to do with it. Lexie was sensitive to everything...even certain salad dressings. Hope tonight is going better. Can't wait to hold her again soon! <3
