Today was Sherry Appreciation Day, apparently. My 100 hall comrades walked to the lunch table with smiles and shouts of "Happy Sherry Appreciation Day!" Who knew? One colleague made a pie, one brought flowers, and the last one brought plates and napkins. The pie-toting teacher also brought a note from a former student. Apparently, the student asked him why he made a pie, he told him it was "Ms. McGowan Appreciation Day," and the kid said, "I had her. I loved that class." The kid got in on the action by sending a note.
They wanted me to know that they appreciate all I do for them and that they think I'm a great teacher. It was very silly and ridiculously sweet.
I love English teachers.
I'm going to Ashland this weekend! I just need to do laundry, pack, and sleep!

That is so funny! Wish I could have been there to see your face. It is a really nice gesture though. Do they know you might leave next year?
During high school, you guys definitely planned your fair share of "freak Sherry out by surprising her events," so you should know the face well :)
I told them about my Master's program, and they're putting two and two together.
"No Mr. Cooper! Appreciate Sherry day is every day!"
I think that was Earth Day, McClellan. LOL!
