Confession #1: I have a weakness for country music.
I know. Some (most?) of it has cheesy, redneck lyrics. But, it’s so much fun! Kimberly and I drove home from lunch today with the windows rolled down singing along to some twang. We were smiling big smiles. That’s the life.
Confession #2: I like the talking almost as much as the music.
We have a new country radio station in the Yay Area (no, that wasn’t a typo; I’m pretending to be up with the Bay Area slang). I’m excited (see #1). However, they think they’re wonderful because they are playing 10,000 songs in a row. I’m bored. I keep going back to the old commercial-ridden-static-laden radio station. They have funny D.J.s. I’m pretty sure the new radio station is run by a computer.
Confession #3: My favorite NPR radio show is “Car Talk.”
I listen to “Car Talk” every Saturday and Sunday morning. I have no idea what they are talking about. Sure, I like my car. I can even change a tire, thanks to my amazing friend, Amy. As you can probably guess, I can’t hold my own in a discussion about car repair. Those guys make me laugh, though. So I keep listening. They’re beginning to feel like old friends.
Confession #4: I find radio commercials entertaining.
The jingles get caught in my head. I have never been inspired to buy something or go somewhere after hearing it advertised on the radio, but they sure do catch my attention. The Kaiser Commercials and Volkswagen commercials (for certified pre-loved) are among my favorites. Another reason why I’m not a fan of the new station: So far, they don’t play any commercials. Yes, I realize that their 10,000 song plan won’t last forever. Still.
What do you like about the radio? Or, do you prefer CDs? Your IPod?

Confession: We totally believe that when driving down the street with the windows down and country music blasting that EVERYONE we pass wishes they were our friends. Who wouldn't want to be, right?
Ha. Maybe that confession was a little too revealing. By the way, he totally wants me.
Ha. Everyone does.
