I want to get out of Livermore for a couple of days over winter break. It needs to be somewhere that a.) I would feel comfortable going alone (unless someone else wants to join me!) b.) Not too expensive (i.e. no airfare) c.) Somewhere I could go for just a day or two.
Help? Any ideas?
This is where I really want to go, but it might be a little out of my price-range ;)

You always have fun visiting your friends in Oregon.:) I always think visits to see people are the best.
Dunsmuir -- The Rogers Inn is like a Bed and Breakfast. My parents would love it. There is snow there right now. It is beautiful. It is a great place to go by yourself. Seriously - you should go.
Ten hours is too far for one night, but Dunsmuir IS on the way to Portland... :) I was thinking more of a Bay Area-ish "trip." The city? The beach?
