A few reasons why today is good:
One of my students wrote, "You look badass with your piercings- in a good way," and I didn't have to respond to the inappropriateness because our class is over. I could just laugh.
As she was writing her advice to next year's English 10 class, another one of my students wrote, "Don't leave your bag in the aisle. Ms. McGowan might trip on it and die." True. Although I never tell them they have to move their bags out of the aisle, they're really quite astute.
Although a few of my students are sometimes sweet and grateful, they were all sweet and grateful today.
Next year I'm moving from the portables to a "real" classroom. My principal is letting me pick which one I want, and she [the classroom] is a beauty. I will have running water and new white cabinets. I'm telling you: Life is good.
At 1:05, the PA system at our school played Van Halen's "School's Out." It made me laugh.
I'm home at 2:45, dressed in housekeeping clothes, getting ready to clean my house because Saturday is my foster care Home Study!

Congrats on the new classroom - I'm sure you're excited to decorate it :)
I'm also sure the home study will go well - you have a beautiful home (even thought I've never been there, I can picture it!)

I got my nose pierced when I went to Santa Barbara with Kimberly and Jess. The only other piercings I have are on my ears. I was a bit baffled by the plural, but I guess cartilage counts ;)
I will call you soon...I have graduation tonight, and a work friend is on her way.
