They have decided to do the surgery, blocked artery and all. The person Nana spoke with said that they will try to get him in by the end of the month. Everyone's on edge, so we're hoping that it will be sooner than later. Nana's driving Papa crazy with her nerves, but we can't get her out of the house because he's scared to be alone.
When they first figured out that something was not right with Papa's health, my nana told her sister that she's afraid that she's not going to be able to take care of Papa if he gets ill. Her sister said, "Oh, Donna. You've been taking care of him since the day you married him." It's true. When I'm visiting with Nana in the dining room, she often yells to Papa in the other room saying, "Ivan! Do you want another cup of coffee?" She interrupts our visits to make sure that Papa has anything he might want or need. The feminist in me says, "He can get his own cup of coffee." The feminine in me thinks, "What beautiful service."

Thank you for keeping us updated. I've been thinking about him a lot, and wondering if there's been any news.
