I've been reading a blog written by a homeschool mom. Although I've always been skeptical of homeschoolers, I enjoy some of the things she has to say. She's quite a woman of wit. Unfortunately, I despise many of her readers. I found this comment on the blog of one of her readers.
"When our children were in public school I was always amazed that no one seemed to think it odd that so many of the teachers had their own children enrolled in private school! It didn't take long before I began to realize why they didn't trust their own children to the system in which they worked...I wouldn't trust my dog to our local schools! And I'm really not that fond of the dog... "
What do you think?

Oh, how I long to devise a witty retort for this woman whose disdain for the public school system is so strong. However, as I am a product of the aforementioned educational system, I am resigned to sit here, drooling on myself and pecking at the keyboard with my nose. What a shame.
I am quick to admit that there are numerous problems with the public school system, but you know what? There are problems with private schools as well. At least public schools require graduate level work post-B.A. And homeschooling? We all know how socially retarded those children can be. My conclusion is that we're all screwed.
Am I glad that this woman is choosing private school over public? Let's put it this way: at least her local school can be thankful that it has two fewer bitches to educate.
Jessica,
She's a homeschool mom:)
