Spring has sprung!

Two weeks ago:Owls were eating falcons
Last week: Ms. McGowan almost had a mental breakdown
This week: Spring

I was fed up with their attitudes, so I took a day off last week. I didn't think I would make it to June unless I spent an afternoon far away from my computer, my snotty students, and my teacher bag filled with work. Breanna and I went shopping in Walnut Creek, had lunch together, bought baby clothes, and saw a chic flick. It was more refreshing than water on a hike in the Sahara. One of my favorite people + Walnut Creek + playing hooky = :)

This week, I like my students again. We've been doing the California High School Exit Exam, so our time together has been cut short. Today was our first day back to the regular schedule.

They were notably goofy today. I will spare you the silly details from each of my classes, but I can't resist mentioning third block. My third block somehow became convinced that I'm going on a date tonight. One girl made a random comment and it was as if they saw a flashing sign that said, "Run with this one...we can distract Ms. McGowan from the lesson plans in no time." The more I blushed, the more they were convinced that I was lying to them. They were sure that my crimson cheeks betrayed my secret. I explained that I was simply embarrassed, I had no date plans tonight, I wouldn't unashamedly lie to them, and that we needed to change the subject. So they did...they wanted to suggest people for me to date. Then, the rumor evolved to a story about me dating one of my student's cousins. The third time I heard "You're dating Kendall's cousin!?", I acquiesced to their accusations by shrugging my shoulders and grinning. We finally got back to the literature lesson; don't you worry.

Today I love my job. Tomorrow's Friday. Check back in on Monday.
