The kids around us looked well--happy and energetically playing. My not-so-well baby was enjoying watching them, but I felt guilty about being so close. When a seat in a more empty part of the waiting room cleared up, I whispered to Klara, "Let's move our germs over there," and I moved away from the crowd. A dad looked at me and said, "Wow. Obvious."
Clearly, it wasn't that obvious. I was looking out for him and his kids--not protecting my girl from them. If it was about my baby, though, would it have been a bad thing to move her away from germy kids?
It's funny that his rude comment has followed me home tonight. I probably should have responded to him, but I was so taken aback that I convinced myself I must have misheard.
Can tomorrow be "Try not to be rude to strangers day?" I need one of those. This mama is tired.

Taking our germs elsewhere

We always sit in the corners of waiting rooms and I don't let the girls touch any of the toys/books. I'm quite defensive in the dr.s office. Sorry someone wasn't very nice to you. Glad Klara is on the mend.
