I need a shift change.

I feel like it's someone else's turn to hold/rock/bounce the inconsolable baby. The problem is that there is no  "someone else" in my house. My head is throbbing from her screams, so I'm feeding her...again. It's the only time she seems at peace tonight. I hope that she's planning to sleep after all of this.

It's moments like these when I'm certain that women are phenomenal creatures. How else could we survive this?

Are you at 3 weeks now? I just learned in my birthing class about the 3rd week. You're starting to feel like you are figuring this kid out, and then they hit a growth spurt! It could be that?
I'm sure you are doing an amazing job Sherry! Klara is super duper blessed to have such a loving, caring, and selfless mother. You, of course, won't be thanked for several years :) So, I'll tell you now :)

Keep on keeping on friend, you're doing great! When people ask me about how I sleep/nap (survive?) with a 4, 2.5 and 6-month-old, I tell them I don't...but that it's the best kind of exhaustion. :)

Melissa, Your childbirth instructor was wise to warn you about the three-week growth spurt! I'd read about it, but I still wasn't ready for my sleepy little newborn to "wake up," and it was definitely a shock to my world! She's almost five weeks now, and we had a great day yesterday after the crazy one the day before. Maybe she knew I was ready to sell her to the gypsies, so she gave me a break ;) Now that she's been sleeping for a five hour stretch at night, it's amazing what I can be ready for the next day. Thanks for the encouragement. You're sweet.

Thanks, Jess!
