My kind of customer service.

I had a disturbing experience the other day. I was expectantly trying on the maternity clothes I ordered from Gap and Old Navy. I put on a pair of jeans, and I was thrilled that, for the very reasonable price, they fit well. I felt something stiff in the pocket and, assuming it was a tag, I reached in and pulled it out. Not so. It was someone's shopping list. Then I looked down and noticed that the pants were visibly worn and dirty! Yuck! I promptly sent an e-mail to Old Navy and waited to hear back.

I heard back the next morning (Sunday) when the customer service representative called me and then responded to my e-mail when I missed the call. It bugs me when I e-mail a company and then they call me back; I use e-mail because it's the most convenient for me, so I appreciated that she also responded to my e-mail since she didn't catch me by phone. She wanted to ship me a new pair of the jeans, but they were sold out. She refunded me for the price of the jeans (including shipping) and offered any pair of jeans on the website for the discounted price of $25 (with free 3-day shipping). You best believe I'm going to wash the first pair and wear them regularly, too.

In the end, I got two pairs of maternity jeans for $25, and they even sent me a 15 percent off coupon for my next purchase. They messed up, but then they made it more than right. I like that kind of customer service. All of my favorite maternity clothes so far come from Gap or Old Navy. They have my loyalty!

I'm so confused. They sent you somebody's old jeans?

Pete, Somebody returned them. The grocery list in the pocket had estimated prices next to each item, so the person must have been on a budget, wore the jeans, and returned them. Gross, right? Too bad I'll definitely be wearing them for the next four months :)

Steph, Not quite ready for that. Ha. We haven't seen a picture of you, but the way. So there.
