One of my students wrote in her memoir about how she hoped that each young person would have a best friend to trust. She said, "Having the privilege of being a best friend and having a best friend in return introduces love and care into a person's heart at an early age. Best friends teach us things we did not know about ourselves. They hold our hands and dry our tears. They hug us tightly and tell us things will be alright. They hold us to the wind and make us face it with a brave heart, but, most importantly, a best friend will never let go of your hand. They will make always be by your side. Until I was fourteen, I hadn't the faintest clue what a real 'best friend' was. I settled for those who showed the least bit of attention to me, and this is where my downward spiral started."
Although it was a bit "cheesy" (she is a freshman, after all), it made me emotional. My friends really do shape me, comfort me, and support me; when life gets rough, they're there. Being without a partner is impossible at times, but I have a legion of partnerships behind me. They ease the sting of life. My friends really are the best on the planet.
If the everyone in the world had friends like mine, the world would be a much, much better place.
Thank you for holding me up.

You are a lucky lady! And your friends are lucky to have you too :)!
Ok, so for some reason it keeps deleting my comment, but it says that there are multiple comments to read. Apparently I just can't see them. Feel free to delete the repeats, I hit publish over and over again. Thanks computer for making me look like an ass, haha.
LOL, Nicole.
Love you, Sherry.
I like her cheesy memoir - but then I've always been kind of cheesy.
I love all of the blogging lately!
Thanks for being a friend who holds me up.
