Why?

Sometimes life seems like more trouble than it's worth. Life, in general, can be so very unsatisfying.

Relationships are hard. Making money is a challenge. Carving out time in the day for everything seems impossible. Trying to look good takes more money and energy than I have. School is overwhelming. I can never give enough of myself.

If I'm surviving, how will I ever live? What about beauty, love, nurture, peace, charity, romance, and joy?

What makes life worth living?  How do you make those things a part of your life?

I guess in my life experience, I have tried to be content in all circumstances. To look for the beauty, love, chances to serve and give, and joy in whatever I may be doing. Life can be really hard sometimes, and it is a struggle. I can't control many of the things that matter most in life, but I can control how I respond to them. I know this might not speak directly to what you are talking about.

I've also found that if my life is more about the doing and less about what my Savior is doing in my heart and around me, then I am certainly off balance and I cannot see clearly. So, I miss a lot of the mundane beauty and chances to serve because I am focused on myself and my desires which are sure to fail me.

Also, I think you give a lot. You are a very thoughtful friend. You give of your time and resources to visit your friends when they have babies, or lose a baby. You serve much with your friendship.

I hope things slow down for you soon, friend.

Gratefulness. Being grateful for all my Saviour has done for me and is brings into perspective beauty, love, peace, etc.
I agree with Stephanie about being off when I am focused on my self and what I deserve. I am also off when I focus on others and what they should have done or should do to...well, benefit ME.
Gratefulness is key for me.
