Overwhelmed doesn't even begin to describe how I've felt the last few weeks. Tonight, I sat on my stairs and sobbed. It's been a very long while since I've done that. It felt good and awful all at the same time. I ended up with a migraine, but I also needed to acknowledge that I can't handle the pressure I put on myself.
I needed to step away from my work tonight. At about 9:00, I realized that I could do no more, so I baked.
I needed to bake tonight--scones to share tomorrow morning. Nope, I didn't finish grading my papers. Nope, it's not the end of the world. Yep, I'm feeling much, much better.
It reminds me of how, in Julie and Julia, Julie comes home from work and finds comfort in the science of baking. If I follow the directions, it works.
I like that.

Sorry about the overwhelmingness :/ I wish I could have scone and grade some papers for you. I'm glad you have a release in baking.
