I like being busy--I really do. The problem is that I'm not finding/making time to reflect. I'm teaching a new novel, building my relationships, grading papers, working up a sweat, re-thinking the focus of my curriculum, tutoring at the library, advising the book club, organizing my life, and forgetting to just SIT AND BE.

Life is so very good right now. Even my worst days don't compare to my best days at this time last year. The thing is: I just need a weekend. I need a real weekend of spending the morning in bed and having a slow brunch at Sideboard and reading and breathing fresh air and cuddling on the couch watching a movie.

Half of the beauty of life can be missed in the chaos that masquerades as living life.

I'm a huge advocate of taking time hostage because we never really have the time we need to enjoy the things we love. I just can't figure out how to do that lately.

Maybe I'll just burn my essays.
