"And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you -- ask what you can do for your country."
-John F. Kennedy
I appreciate the newfound optimism in our country. I'm embracing the idea that we can bring about change. If nothing else, I hope we, as a nation, are inspired to live proactively.

I am excited too! Go Obama!!!
I don't know if I have a plan, but I am inspired...I'll let you know.
I've gotta say, the general sense of excitement in the air is pretty refreshing after years of nearly universal criticism. There's only so much negativity a nation can take!
Good question - I really don't know. I'm not really in my community unfortunately.
Stephanie, As if raising people of substance is not community action!
As for me: I've been wanting to volunteer as a literacy tutor at our library for years, but I've never gotten around to it. I e-mailed the coordinator Monday to get information, and she told me that there are more than 100 adults, in Livermore, on the waiting list to LEARN HOW TO READ. Can you believe that? I was completely blown away. Find the needs in your community; just because we don't see them doesn't mean they're not there!
