This last week has been really rough. As if the universe is enjoying mocking me, my car broke on the way to work yesterday. I had to have it towed after work. It was just one-more-thing. My friend from work told me I should make a list of the "stuff" I've had to deal with this week. Maybe I could check things off, so I feel accomplished.
Today was better, though. This afternoon, I noticed a flower box on my porch. I rarely (okay, never) get flowers delivered to my house, but I immediately knew who sent me flowers. She's just "that" kind of friend. I carried them up my stairs with thankful tears. When I saw her name through the window on the envelope, I really started crying. A good, healthy, fulfilling cry.
I'm glad I have her.
I'm also glad that, on my desk, I will have a beautiful reminder that I'm not alone. And they're Alstremeria, so they will last for quite some time!
