Despite my myopia, the world kept turning, which was a good thing. I have had a fabulous couple of days.

Last night, Breanna, Jessica, and I went out for pie at the ol’ square a la baker. It was a great time of catching up. They are two of my dearest lifetime friends. We’ve been through a whole lot together, and our friendship is so comfortable and safe. I am so thankful for them. My friends who experienced my “old” family (with my dad) have a large part of my heart with their names on it. They visited me when I was living at Nana’s, and they shared my tears and pain. They were a remarkable light during the darkest time in my life. For them, I will ALWAYS rejoice.

Tonight, I went to a fabulous wedding. It wasn’t showy, but it was beautiful. It was truly a celebration of love, family, and strength. The music was live and jazzy, the laughter was abundant, and the candles glowed. The bride and groom spent so much time with their guests celebrating. When the bride sat down at my table, I thought, “This is what a wedding should be: A celebration of community and support.”

It always gets better. That’s how life works. For that, I’m thankful.
