According the MSNBC, Mary J. Blige says she has found religion, but she makes no apologies for her earthly materialism. In fact, she says God has willed her to wear bling.“My God is a God who wants me to have things,” the singertells May’s Blender magazine. “He wants me to bling. He wants me to be the hottest thing on the block don’t know what kind of God the rest of y’all are serving, but the God I serve says, ‘Mary, you need to be the hottest thing this year, and I’m gonna make sure you’re doing that.'"

Oh my goodness. I think she's confusing the voice of TV commercials with God. The same thing happened to me about a year ago. I felt that God was telling me that I needed the new "Playskool Cherry Red Electric Firetruck with real working hose" and I was like, "God, are you sure about this?" And then I realized that I was watching Saturday morning cartoons and God's voice was really an actor trying to sell me crap. Thank goodness I am SO MUCH SMARTER than Mary.
Hey, God just wants his peeps to represent correctly...and show others just how fly a God we serve. Ain't nothing wrong with a little bling....
...especially if it's the obnoxiously huge cross version that shouts "holy rapper".
;-)
it's funny how sometimes what we hear God saying is EXACTLY what we want Him to say . . . almost like we put the words in His mouth ourselves . . .
