You give me fever...

My students are suffering from a contagious, severe strand of Spring Fever. I confess, I love it. Yes, they drive me bonkers, but they also make me laugh. The classroom's alive. They participate because they're so jumpy that they can't help it. I like it. Sometimes making learning dynamic is a challenge. Not in the Spring. The best part is that, by the end of our class, they're exhausted. I've been letting them use the last 10 minutes of class to get started on their homework reading. During that time, they're dead silent. I can sense them whispering, "Thanks for the opportunity to veg." After a crazy class, we all need those last few minutes of silence. Sometimes, I use that time to grade papers. Other days, I just sit and reflect on the class. Those ten minutes have proven to be beautiful.
