Today, I remembered why I'm irked by people without logical plans. I was spying on one of my students as she talked on the phone. She was telling her listener that she was hoping to go to Las Positas (the local community college) full time while she was still in high school. That way, she can be ready to go into law school by the time she graduates from high school. The girl is failing English- we're talking she has like a 20% and she never comes to class. What makes her think this is a good idea? Also, I wonder if she has any idea that it's not possible to get a four-year degree from Livermore's community college. Hmpf. Now I know why I don't allow myself to dream- I'm afraid that I will end up without a brain.

Beautifully said, Galen. But, this girl is just confused. It takes some logic to make dreams happen. I hate to admit it, but I have no faith that this girl is going to accomplish her dreams. Step one to becoming a lawyer: pass sophomore English.

You have no idea. The Tonissens are supposed to come and visit this weekend- a good excuse for me to take a break. Let's all hang out. We're having a BBQ Sunday- are you game?
There are no parties this weekend, which should mean that I don't have to work! Yay!
